It’s that time of year! Snow-time!
There is so much more to do with the kids in the snow besides building a snowman.
Plus, you rarely get enough of that good snow to build a good snowman.
Here are 8 easy activities that don’t require a huge snowstorm or any stress!

What to Do With Your Kids in the Snow
1.
Make Snow Cream
They are going to eat the snow anyway, right!
I was first introduced to snow cream a few years ago and I thought it was the most unsanitary weird dessert ever!
However, now it is one of our favorite snow day activities and snacks!
Although it’s not hard to make, we use this recipe from Kristie Sawicki and it is perfect!
Then we add our toppings and enjoy.
2.
Paint the Snow
Unlike the snow cream, this is one I’ve been doing my whole life.
This is the perfect activity to bring your kids’ snow creations to life.
Plus it stays as long as the snow does, so if you are snowed in for a few days you could keep adding to your creations.

You will also need some squeeze bottles to color the snow.
3.
Blow Bubbles
Did you know that bubbles will freeze? I guess it makes sense, but it was a new idea to me!
Take that already fun activity of blowing bubbles and do it on your coldest winter day to see them freeze in action.

4.
Make a Snow Volcano
How fun is this!
Bring some science to it all with an easy snow volcano.
All you need is baking soda, warm water, dish soap, vinegar, red food coloring, and a tall cup or plastic bottle.

5.
Snow Potato Head
The easiest activity ever!
Just take your potato head kit outside in the snow.
This one is perfect for the little ones and older children.
I can’t promise a snowball fight won’t happen at the end though.

6.
Make Ice Sculptures
With some preparation and patience, you can make your own ice sculptures.
When they are ready in the freezer you can take them outside and start building.

7.
Play With Glow Sticks
A very easy snow activity that is perfect for all ages.
Take advantage of the early nights and take some glow sticks outside.
Glow sticks are always fun so of course they would be in the snow!

8.
Frozen hands
Last but not least, make some frozen hands!
For this fun idea, you will need latex gloves, water, food coloring, twist-ties or a pipe cleaner, and a shallow baking pan.
You can have them freeze in the freezer or outside if you have cold enough temperatures.
Then take them out in the snow to play!
